Description
Vintage Cheongsam Dress in what appears to be a Silk or Rayon Crepe. This print is a black & white interesting floral crepe with black silk piping outlining all of the refined edges of this traditional fitted wiggle dress. The dress is completely lined in sheer satin, including sleeve lining. There are many hand sewn details that can be seen all over this garment. There is a metal side zipper and a series of hand sewn snaps and frog closures for that perfect fitted look.
This garment is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION…… It appears unworn.. the only flaw is a small snag hole on the inside lining of the mandarin collar.. I think this was created by a metal hanger. The snag hole does not go through to the finished outside fabric on the mandarin collar.
This dress is from the estate of an ambassador’s wife from Hong Kong. I purchased many of these dresses.. most were never worn and placed in storage in 2000. I would guess that this one is from the 1960’s.
This garment has no size label. I would say that this is a WOMEN’S SIZE MEDIUM with a 29 inch waist

Waist area: 29 inches
Hip area: 40 inches
Sleeve length from the shoulder seam to the hem: 16-1/4 inches

Side Slits along both sides of the hem: 9 inches long
