RARE>> Vintage 1950’S Cat Eye Sunglasses in an aluminum frame with a deep blue enamel finish.
There are unusual prong set rhinestone details on the top of the frames as well as rhinestone details along the arms of the frame.
These Optical Quality frames have new UV “glass” lenses in a smokey green. In the late 1990’s I had new UV glass lenses put into these vintage frames by an optician. These new sunglass lenses are glass, not plastic. I sold many of these vintage glasses with new UV lenses in my vintage store, and I kept a number of the cool ones in storage for years & am selling them now.
These sunglasses are used and in GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION. with some visible scratches in the blue enamel finish.. The most noticeable worn finish of the blue enamel is on the inside of both arms.
The rhinestones look good on the front of the frames, where a few of the rhinestones on the arms have lost some of it’s luster.
The lenses look great with no scratches or issues.
On the tip of that arm is the maker’s name:
TURA INC.
The hinges are in excellent working order, and the frames are not warped or crooked.
These frames are definitely on the SMALLER SIZE. Keep in mind that many vintage glasses are smaller than eye glasses are today..
