Description
1930’S Cranberry Silk Velvet with a fitted bodice that has ruching details along the neckline down and around the waist. This appears like velvet gathered roping.. a very cool detail.. To top that off are these puffy mutton sleeves with velvet covered buttons at the cuff..
On the front running down from the bodice are a series of 24 impressive velvet covered buttons.. There is also a peak-a-boo opening on the back of this dress, as well as a velvet belt along back of the waist with a matching cranberry velvet square buckle…
There are a few snaps sewn on the side to get in and out of this dress, that partially gets covered by the belted back sash.
If you are not familiar with silk velvet.. they are so soft & incredible to wear against the skin.
This garment is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION.. with only minor flaws and imperfections.. for this being nearly 100 years old.. it’s very wearable.
There is no maker or size label attached to this dress… .. which is typical of this period..
I would say that this dress is a WOMEN’S SMALL with a 27 inch waist
