Description
1930’S Black Silk Velvet with a fitted bodice that has gathering of the fabric from the shoulders down to the waist.. Cinched at the waist is a wrap around sash that is also gathered that snaps in the back with a stacked bow detail on top.
This silk velvet has short puffy sleeves.. so popular in the thirties.. and a skirt that flares out at the hemline. There is a metal side zipper on this dress, that partially gets covered by the sash.
From the waist down, the skirt flares out in a tulip shape… which looks great when you add movement to the dress.
If you are not familiar with silk velvet.. they are so soft & incredible to wear against the skin.
This garment is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION.. with only minor flaws and imperfections.. for this being nearly 100 years old.. it’s very wearable.
There is no maker or size label attached to this dress… .. which is typical of this period..
I would say that this dress is a WOMEN’S SMALL with a 27 inch waist
