Vintage Cheongsam Dress in a fine Quality Silk Jacquard Floral. Beautiful soft pastel colors in a complex print. There is contrasting pink silk piping outlining all of the refined edges of this traditional fitted wiggle dress. There are many hand sewn details, including the silk piping, hand sewn details around the nylon side zipper and a series of sewn snaps for that perfect fitted look.
This garment is in GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION… with one thing to mention. The pink piping along the bottom of one of the armpits is frayed a bit. That area can’t be seen when worn, as it is under the arm area. ( see last image with arrow)
The colors in the photograph appear somewhat darker than what they actually are in person.. They are actually more soft pastel tones.
This dress is from the estate of an ambassador’s wife from Hong Kong. I purchased many of these dresses.. most were lightly worn or never worn and placed in storage in 2000. I would guess that this one is from the 1960’s.
This garment has no size label. I would say that this is a WOMEN’S SIZE MEDIUM with a 29 inch waist
