Description
1930’S Bias Cut Printed Dress in a vivid abstract tree pattern on a beautiful silk fabric. This fabric is light and flowing, like fine silk scarf material.
The bodice is fitted with a long attached tie-back sash that could be tied in the front, on the side or on the back. There are snap closures along the side waist that are covered in fabric.. These side snaps are typical of 1930’s dresses, as these dresses pre-date the zipper.
The sleeves are dramatic with cut-out flaring tulip shaped petals.
The skirt is bias cut and flares out to a full circle in a tulip shape as well.
This is truly Old Hollywood Style. Very glamorous, as seen in Old Hollywood Movies from that period.
This garment is in VERY GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION.. with a few small stains on the inside of the collar lining & the inside lining of the sleeves. (see last 2 images with arrows)
Other than that there are a few minor areas that could use a few hand stitches along the seams.
*There is no maker label or size in dress… which is typical of this period..
I would say that this dress is a WOMEN’S SMALL to perhaps a MEDIUM (as the shoulder measurements are narrow)
This should fit rather loose, as bias cut dresses should drop down from the shoulders and hug the body.
**Check Measurements below to be certain of the size:
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 13 inches
Bust taken under the arm pit to arm pit: 20 inches across = 40 inches
