Description
Vintage 1920’s early 30’s sheer printed Silk Georgette Dress with incredible glass beadwork hand sewn along the neckline as well as down the sleeves. These details make this so special, along with the bias-cut & ruching details of the fabric as it tulips out toward the hemline. These types of details you only see these days in Haute Couture Clothing. Along the hemline there is black gauze netting that adds interest and volume to the movement of the dress.
Obviously this is completely sheer, as you would need a slip, teddie, or a simple body stocking worn with..
These period dresses are delicate, and should be worn with care.
This vintage garment is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION.. with a few snags & repairs along the lower part of the dress… With vintage fabric so sheer delicate, it’s extremely rare to see this pieces without some flaws or repairs somewhere.
There is no maker or size label in this garment… which is typical for the period.
I would say with the measurements it would fit a women’s SIZE SMALL to a perhaps a TAILORED MEDIUM
Mannequin form is 34 x 28 x 36, and it fits very well on it. If you are around that size it would be perfect, much larger and the fabric would not float over your body as well.
*Check the measurements below to be certain of the size:
Shoulder seam to seam: 14 inches
Bust: taken under the armpit to armpit: 19 inches = 38 inches
Waist area: 15 inches across = 30 inches
Hip area: 18 inches across = 36 inches (rather narrow here)
Length, from shoulder to hem: 52 inches
Sleeve, from the shoulder seam to the snapped cuff: 24 inches
Arm opening: 8 inches from the shoulder opening down to the pit = 8 inches = 16 inches
Obviously this needs to fit loose and drop from the shoulders.. not tight fitting anywhere..
