Description

1900 – 1920’s Sheer Lace Dress with incredible eyelet, lace & embroidery handwork. This is cut rather large, wide at the bustline and flairs out towards the hemline..however this will drape better when its fit is rather loose and flowing.
The hemline is actually rather scalloped, and drops out longer in the back. The designs remind me a bit of the Art Nouveau period.
The back has several small buttons and a run of hooks and tiny snaps that go around the bow and down the dress. Not sure many would need a closure, unless the wearer was large enough to make it easier getting in and out of.
This garment is sheer and see through.. and there is no slip that comes with this.
For it’s age, it is surprisingly in EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION.. with only minor imperfections to be found.
There are no holes, stains or tears that I could see. The fine lace going around the neckline has some little thread damage, but could be replaced with some fine ribbon lace… if needed.
There is no maker or fabric content label attached…however, the fabric is all cotton for sure. The color is an off white.
It is clean, however I did not hand wash this as I didn’t want to damage any of the details.

I would say this is a WOMEN’S SIZE MEDIUM to LARGE
